PRIMO: ADHESIVE Dosing HEAD FOR ROBOT APPLICATIONS

Primo is an adhesive dosing head with an integrated gear pump for uniform adhesive application at dynamic speeds, for example, in industrial robot applications. It is used wherever high dispensing accuracy is of utmost importance. Regardless of the speed, it applies exactly the specified amount of thermoplastic and reactive adhesives.

ADVANTAGES OF THE PRIMO ADHESIVE dosing HEAD – AT A GLANCE

  • Lightweight, compact adhesive dosing head for medium-sized industrial robots. Optimal weight-to-performance ratio
  • Wide range of variants. You can configure the adhesive dosing head to optimally fit your production process
  • Straightforward, flexible integration: The Primo dosing head is either mounted on a mobile unit or fixed to a machine
  • Precisely dispensed application of adhesive, independent of speed, thanks to the gear pump in the application head
  • Bead and/or spray application are possible with the same application head
  • Time savings thanks to pinned components: The adhesive dosing head is exactly aligned after maintenance

UNIFORM ADHESIVE APPLICATION AT DYNAMIC SPEEDS

Do you glue at variable speeds? Or does your product require different amount of adhesive in different places? Then the Primo will serve your needs. It ensures uniform adhesive application at dynamic speeds on:

  • Irregular products such as trim strips or thin plastic parts
  • Bulkier components for household appliances such as dishwashers and refrigerators
  • Truck walls

Thanks to the integrated gear pump, the Primo adapts to the dynamic speeds of industrial robots and reliably applies the defined amount of adhesive. Whether beads or spray curls: Primo can do both – using the same application head.

HIGH DISPENSING ACCURACY FOR INDUSTRIAL GLUING

What is special about the Primo is the gear pump integrated into the application head, which precisely dispenses and delivers the adhesive directly in front of the application element. In contrast to a conventional application head, the adhesive is not only delivered by the pump in the melter but ultimately by the gear pump in the Primo dispensing head itself. This design ensures that the amount of adhesive delivered by the pump corresponds exactly to the applied amount. The result: high dispensing accuracy.

PRIMO: WHICH DESIGN SUITS YOUR APPLICATION?

Primo is extremely versatile. You decide what your dispensing system should look like.

  • Actuation: You can actuate the dosing head via the pattern control of the Robatech melter or directly via PLC.
  • Motor: We offer the adhesive dosing head with a planetary gear motor up to a flow rate of 20 kg/h. However, you can also equip the dosing head with its own motor.
  • Select the application elements for bead and/or spray application. With several application elements per head, you can switch from one type of application to another without any retrofit effort.
  • Using the optional pressure sensors at the inlet and outlet of the gear pump, you monitor the adhesive pressure. You can intervene quickly in the event of deviations from the tolerance values.
  • Optionally integrate an adhesive filter for higher reliability and application quality.
  • External air heater (optional): Its controls the air temperature independently of the adhesive temperature. This improves the curl application quality during spraying.
  • Protection for heated hoses: Kink protectors and rotary unions protect your heated hoses from torsional stress caused by the robot’s movement. This keeps them in operation longer.

QUICK RECOMMISSIONING THANKS TO PINNED COMPONENTS

Primo is easy to maintain. It is easy to reinstall the dosing head in exactly the same position after cleaning or maintenance work – as all application-related components are pinned. This means: After maintenance, each part is in exactly the same position as before, and the robot can continue its work without being reprogrammed.

Moreover, it is not necessary to remove or disassemble the dosing head for simple maintenance work. You can easily lubricate the gear pump, for example, or change the filter on the spot without removing the dosing head.
