Hotmelting

In the 60-ties the industry has discovered that a plastic formulated in a special way (mixture between wax, resine ...) can be used to join to pieces of cardboard together. For this purpose the plastic has to be molten and applied in liquid form at approx. 170° C. By flattening the adhesive bead the cooling reverses the plastic from liquid to solid again and generates a quick bond. Hotmelting process is used by Robatech hotmelt equipment.
