Cold Glue

Cold glues are also called ?white glues? and they can be classified either by the material base but by the curing mechanism as well.


Water based adhesive is a white and liquid material which is capable to stick different substrates together (e.g. paper/foil, paper/paper, wood lamination, paper/plastic films, etc.). The cold glue is applied to only one surface; evaporation of water at least one substrate must be able to absorb water.


Dispersion adhesives
- are heterogeneous systems with a solid polymer phase and an aqueous phase
- solid content normally between 30 % and 70 %
- Water is the medium that carries the adhesives solids to the surfaces being bonded
- Water controls the setting speed and drying rate


Waterborne adhesives are available in 2 forms:
